Oh the places you’ll go.

Well hello, my name is Michael William Cook, aka the dude behind the camera. I currently live in Utah with my amazing wife and two adorable children. Oh and can’t forget Kodak, my running accountability partner (not necessarily by choice), our Siberian Husky.

Who am I besides “the photographer”? I typed an elegant paragraph but I think this will be easier. How do I spend my time when I’m not taking pictures? - running. diving into a good book. diving into different shades of blue water. seeing new places. chillin on the beach or by a pool. binging an interesting tv series. good stories. good storytellers. basketball. pickleball. outdoors. airplanes but not airports. long road trips. interesting podcasts. interesting people (which is everyone). deep conversations. history. playing catch. trying something new. and the list probably goes on… If I look at who I am and what I enjoy most though, photography has to be pretty close to the core. Now… drumroll… for the reason you’re most likely here:

I’ve had a camera in my hand since 2014. I read every photography book I could get my hands. Probably too many. I learned the ins and outs from how a camera functions to how to capture captivating photographs. I learned the art and science of photography. I spent 3 years enjoying my hobby and taking some of my favorite photographs to this day. In 2017 people and companies started seeing my work and hiring me for that work. Long story short, it turned into a business. hashtag blessed. Luckily a business that I love. I feel extremely #blessed because I can promise you, that even if I wasn’t getting paid, I’d still be taking lots and lots of photographs. Thanks to that first camera, (purchased in my hometown of Boise, Idaho) I have had opportunities to “work” in some of the world’s most beautiful and remote destinations. Even better than the locations, I’ve been able to “work” with a long list of amazing clients and people. I have experience taking pictures of all subject matters, but the majority of my work is for weddings, boutique hotels, and brands. But that’s enough about me! Thanks a ton,

Michael
